The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.” This painting brings to mind one of my favorite songs that we used to sing in my church youth choir. One of the stanzas questions the listener saying, “Have you heard of the city? The streets are paved with gold… And there’s twelve gates to the city, Hallejuah, Hallejuah. Come on. Meet me in the city. Revelation 21: 27, “Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” Amen.
